WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO,

AND WHAT WE CAN DO TOGETHER!

ON AUGUST 23rd 2009, I read an article on the website of Comcast.com. I did a little investigating and became very angry. I wrote an email letter complaining to my friends and associates on my email lists, having no idea the letter would make it's way around the whole of the USA. Even at this writing and building of this website September 3rd 2009, amazement is the only word I can think of.

(UPDATE: as of 1:15 PM 03/01/11 we have had 325,819 emails, phone calls and visits to this site)

Over the past 18 months I have received thousands of emails and telephone calls. The calls have started as early as 4:37AM, waking me from a comfortable sleep in my memory foam bed. (The memory thing is import. By now the only thing with a functional memory is my bed.) I have had so much input and questions and people showing confusion, anger and shear fright I wrote an addendum to the letter and started it on the way around the US once again.

People are afraid of losing all they have, all they have worked and saved for. They are afraid of losing their health care, their social security, their medical benefits, their medicare, their personal security, and their homes. You name it they are afraid they are losing it or will lose it very soon.

EVERYONE ASKS ME THE SAME QUESTION: "BILL BENNETT, WHAT DO YOU INTEND ON DOING ABOUT IT. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO HELP ME." ONLY A VERY FEW HAVE SAID "HOW CAN WE DO SOMETHING".

The only way we can do something, is TOGETHER. It takes all of us, not "JUST BILL BENNETT IN OREGON", or even with the help of the one in Washington -- which will never happen. THE WASHINGTON ONE IS A MEMBER OF THE WASHINGTON "IN CROWD".

REMEMBER THIS, and remember it well. Your Congressmen/women, your Senators, your President, and all your local and state officals ARE ELECTED BY YOU -- NOT APPOINTED BY DEVINE RIGHT. They are elected, and are "YOUR PERSONAL EMPLOYEES". Get them working for you, or "FIRE THEM". How about we change the law and MAKE THEM DRAW SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE. Elect them with "TERM LIMITS, NOT FOR A LIFE TIME APPOINTMENT". They should be made to fear us, not the other way around "THE WAY IT IS NOW".

Until August 23rd, I was just like most everyone else. "I REALLY DID NOT THINK I COULD DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEM I REMEMBERED -- I single handedly defeated the bureaucratic dynasty known as THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION. I got people fired for incompetence and I MADE SEVERAL CONGRESSMEN AND SENATORS AND EVEN A PRESIDENT STAND-UP AND TAKE NOTICE, "I MADE THEM AFRAID OF ME". They remember my name and it is not because I am a "Former Secretary of Education or Drug Czar".

"NOW HOW ABOUT A COUPLE OF FACTS TO TWIST YOUR TWINKIE or BURST YOUR BUBBLE"

(A) There will not be a cost of living increase for Social Security recipients for 2010 & 2011 (who knows about 2012 or beyond?) plus raise co-pay on medicare prescriptions by $2.00 each. (This actually $3.00 for old and $6.00 for new RX's)

(B) THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION - is about to spend $24,000,000.00 (that is twenty four million dollars US) on a computer system to help with social security and medicare and monitor costs.

NOTE -- According to a social security employee who answered the phone (Lost the paper with his name on it so I do not remember his name - sorry) he stated and I quote "LOOK AT IT THIS WAY. THAT TWENTY FOUR MILLION WILL CREATE JOBS WHEN WE BUY THE COMPUTERS". When I asked him who was making the computers and was a bid requested he stated and again I quote "DELL and IBM and MAYBE ACER or TOSHIBA AND SONY". He said it was a no bid contract that had been worked out in 2008 when the idea originated.

I went on to ask him if he knew that the majority of those computers were made in China, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, India and the only jobs created would be there. Did he feel it was right to raise employment there, instead of here "WHERE WE NEED JOBS". He stupidly stated "THEY WORK CHEAPER THAN US WORKERS SO WE GET MORE FOR OUR MONEY". I asked "Don't you mean my and the people of the US's money?", he said "NO THE ADMINISTRATION'S MONEY".

"IF THAT DON'T SNAP YOUR SUSPENDERS NOTHING WILL"

BY THE WAY -- If you didn't receive the "INFAMOUS" letter of the 23rd or the updated version of Sept 1,

just ask for it and it will be on it's way to your email address.

A PHONE CALL FROM ILLINOIS 09/08/09

I just received a phone call from a gentleman in Illinois, who was concerned about my letters and updates. He advised me that on the Social Security site they are now stating "THE MONEY FOR THE COMPUTER SYSTEM" will come from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act". This letter is dated August 07/2009. There are other press releases that state (AND THIS IS A FACT I DO NOT DISPUTE), "The cost of living adjustment C.O.L.A. is based on segments relating to budget, and gross national product adjustments". Since the call to me I have been calling Social Security to obtain clarification - the number shown is continually ringing busy.

I state herewith that "I STAND BY MY STATEMENTS, IN THIS SITE AS WELL AS IN MY NOW INFAMOUS LETTERS ARE TRUE". I must also state, if I was incorrect or misquoted the Social Security Press Releases, then so were those of CNN, HLN, and all of the media commentators, as that is where I originally became aware of the $24,000,000.00 and "The loss of our cost of living increase for the next two years". Oh by the way, where is the money coming from for the AMERICAN RECOVERY & REINVESTMENT ACT?

WHAT MUST BE UNDERSTOOD IS SIMPLY THIS -- We are not getting a Cost Of Living Adjustment. Social Security is buying $24,000,000.00 in Computers and they are not made in the US. I personally do not want to put people to work elsewhere. OK? I do not want to give up my C.O.L.A. to buy those computers, no matter what program they buy them under. I guess I don't understand how if you take $24,000,000.00 from your right hand pocket and put it in the left or back pockets "IT DOES NOT REFLECT ON THE POCKET ON THE RIGHT" no matter how it leaves or gets to where it is going.
